Garmin continues to expand its range of fitness and fitness tracking products with the announcement of the Vivosmart HR+ which takes everything from their successful Vivosmart range, combines Heartrate monitoring available on the “HR” and adding one new feature we’ve not seen on a fitness band before – GPS
GPS is a feature on many fitness or activity based watches, but for Garmin to squeeze it into a fitness band like the Vivosmart is a big step forward.
This means you’ll get running metrics like pace and accurate distance without having to switch from your “step tracker” to a “running watch”.
Plus, it’s swim and shower safe which again isn’t a common thing on many bands.
Adam Howarth, General Manager, Garmin Australasia said “With a compelling combination of GPS, wrist-based heart rate, long battery life and water resistance, the vívosmart HR+ was designed to keep up with users’ active lifestyles, Wherever your day takes you the vívosmart HR+ is made to help motivate and track all your active moments.”
Other key running features include having personal records, a virtual pacer plus Garmin’s own smart Auto Pause and Auto Lap features.
With GPS enabled there’s 8 hour battery life, five days when in tracking mode.
It goes on sale this month for $349 and will come in black/shark fin grey, imperial purple/kona purple, and midnight blue/bolt blue.
