EFTM Best TV 2016: Hisense ULED

I don’t think there’s ever been a tougher year to judge TVs and recommend TVs to people in the market to spend their hard earned on that iconic part of the lounge room.

Just in the last few months, we’ve tested here in the EFTM Man-Cave some special TVs from LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and Hisense.  None of them disappoint. None.

But sometimes you’re forced to choose.  Pick your favourite child.  It’s a tough call.

I’ve gone for the Hisense ULED for two reasons – their game has stepped up big time on picture quality, and their bang for your buck is unmatched.

Seriously, a 65inch top class screen for $2,500.  At $4,000 you’re getting 75 inches, and for $1,500 55 inches.

These prices are unmatched by the flagship ranges from other companies.

And that’s the key point – flagship range.  Samsung doesn’t put “quantum dots” on every TV – just the flagships, not every Sony or Panasonic has that stunning colour clarity – while Hisense have put their all into this product and still made it affordable.

I’ve not known someone to be disappointed by a Hisense TV.

If you’ve got other “devices” like Foxtel, Fetch, Apple TV etc, you won’t ever notice what’s missing from the Hisense.

It’s really come down to a race to be the best TV operating system and it’s only 2016 where Samsung is catching up to LG – while Hisense has been focussing on getting the price down.

Of course, if money is no object then get the big TV from the big brand. OR, get a Hisense ULED and throw some cash at a solid sound system – you won’t regret it.
