JBL have today announced their third Google Assistant enabled speaker in Australia with the JBL Link 300 hitting stores at $349.95.
Not only is the Link 300 bigger than the previous Link 10 and Link 20, it’s a new style too – with WiFi on board it’s a Chromecast enabled speaker making multi-room control possible.
“We are thrilled to pair JBL’s incredible legacy of award winning sound with our growing line-up of voice-controlled speakers,” said Michael Mauser, President of the Lifestyle Audio Division at HARMAN. “JBL LINK is a first-class wireless smart speaker that allows consumers to entertain and enjoy world class sound in a sleek package.”
The Link series of speaker are a great choice for people who love the idea of “hey Google” and want to use it most for playing music. The Standard Google Home or Google Home Mini both offer great voice assistance, but don’t offer a great music listening experience.
With Sony and others including JBL in the market it almost makes sense for Google to focus on the software and capabilities of Google Assistant, and leave the speaker building to the experts.
JBL’s solid sound is brought out with the link 300 offering a greater range of both volume and bass than the smaller models previously on the market.
The Link 300 is on sale now, details and retailers available on the JBL website.
