eSports gets another Boost: Boost Mobile

Prepaid telco Boost has upped its sponsorship game with a move into eSports by partnering with the several clubs and events to expand their brand exposure.

Boost Mobile will become a partner to the Melbourne eSports Open, the Supercars E-Series and the Chiefs eSports Club.

Hey – they’re a youth oriented brand, so it makes perfect sense and the expansion into the Supercars E-Series is a nice progression from their sponsorship of the Andretti Walkinshaw HSV team.

Jason Haynes from Boost Mobile Australia says “We are excited about the future of esports and believe this is a fast-evolving and dynamic area, a new form of entertainment, where data and a great network have an important role to play. Esports and the broader gaming community is an area that appeals to our customers who are digital natives, and we are delighted to both show our support and use this platform to further build our brand,”

“After spending some time within the esports community, it is clear that there is a great fit between Boost Mobile and the world of pro-gaming. It involves much more than just playing, but also uploading and sharing content, watching others play, and live streaming tournaments. This is where it becomes incredibly important to have a reliable 4G mobile network.”

The Supercar E-Series will be announced in detail on Friday, but the CEO of Supercars is already pumped by the support from Boost it seems; “With the support of Boost Mobile, this Series will engage a new generation of fans. The ability to replicate our world class on-track competition in the virtual world makes esports a brilliant platform for engaging new and existing fans of Supercars alike.”

eSports are becoming hard to ignore, with events, series and support growing rapidly both in Australia and globally.
