Well honestly how good is this news. Hunter Douglas, the guys and girls behind window coverings brand Luxaflex has announced news today that has me in a state of conniption. Its wireless operating system known as PowerView Motorisation is now compatible with Apple HomeKit!
What does this mean? Well for a smart home man such as myself it means the world! You will be able to control most Luxaflex window treatments via the Apple HomeKit app, ask Siri or even use your iPhone to open and close blinds.

As soon as I heard this my attention straight away turned to programming blinds, based on the time of day. Thankfully via the PowerView App you will be able to create scenes with pre-programmed blind positions. For example, they could be opened at dawn, or adjusted during the afternoon to deflect heat or shut completely at night.
I should add that PowerView Motorisation is already compatible with other smart home systems such as Alexa and Google Assistant.
I’m all in on this one!
