Bose SoundLink Micro review

If you have a toddler, say aged about two, can I make a suggestion? When it comes to bath or shower time there’s a product that has changed my life. It’s called the Bose SoundLink Micro, a Bluetooth speaker that brings quality sound to an often-arduous process.

This is simply a Bluetooth speaker that can get wet, very wet in fact thanks to its IPX7 rating. That basically means it can be fully immersed in water, not that you’ll hear much if that’s what you choose to do.

The orange unit I’ve reviewed has found its home strapped to our shower head. It has simple controls, such as plus and minus buttons for volume, a centre button to summon Siri or change tracks and a power button. It has a strap on the back allowing for the silicon rubber covered speaker to be strapped to just about anything. So perfect for indoors and outdoors.

Frankly the sound is bloody fantastic given its size, it will easily fill a room with plenty of volume and clear base. Via the Bose connect app you can add an extra layer of control over the device. There’s a Party Mode allowing two speakers to be connected wirelessly. Or the option of switching to Stereo Mode for proper left and right playback.

The battery life seems to be excellent given it’s still on 70 per cent charge after about three weeks of use with an average shower time of 10 minutes. Henry originally wanted to hold the device while some track from The Wiggles rocked his world, but I quickly discovered water will fill the speaker holes, muting the sound. So it’s now up high and out of reach, plus it’s back to Guns N’ Roses!

At $149.95 it isn’t cheap, but if you’re looking for quality sound that can go anywhere it’s hard to beat!
