Bentley reveal new Flying Spur

Luxury carmaker Bentley has unmasked the third-generation Flying Spur. This ultra-luxury long-wheel base limousine sedan is quite breathtaking visually and no doubt just as incredible to ride in let alone drive.

The Flying Spur showcases Bentley’s new design language that will kick start other models no doubt well into the next decade. The stately, striking and ornate looks are exactly what Bentley buyers are looking for, the Flying Spur delivers that in spades.

I truly love the fact the ‘Flying B’ pops out of the front end, it’s a real jewel in the crown. I’ve only experienced the pop-up Spirit of Ecstasy on Rolls Royce vehicles, let me tell you nothing else makes you feel like a king than peering over the bonnet and seeing something like that. It’s actually the first time the ‘Flying B’ has featured since 1959.

Cars in this completely unobtainable and unrelatable category are usually powered by an engine that would give a nuclear reactor a run for its money. The Flying Spur doesn’t disappoint. It’s fitted with a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine along with all-wheel drive plus all-wheel steering. That engine produces 467kW and 900Nm of torque via an eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission. That will catapult this beast to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

The interior has been updated with a new digital Instrument display. The doors feature quilted leather door inserts, while in the back are basically thrones that are hand-crafted for the very well-heeled.

But words simply can’t do it justice, take a look for yourself.
