Motorola adds One Zoom and E6 Plus phones to their range

Motorola has joined the slew of announcements out of IFA, announcing the Motorola One Zoom and E6 Plus.

The Motorola One Zoom is the latest in their One-series phones, with this model introducing a quad-camera array on the rear.

The ‘Zoom’ moniker is likely thanks to the 8MP sensor which sits behind a 3x Optical zoom (10x hybrid zoom) lens and includes Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). You also get OIS, as well as quad-pixel tech for low-light pics on the main 48MP main sensor but not on the16MP sensor which hides behind a 117-degree field of view lens, or the 5MP depth sensing camera for Bokeh effects.

Spec wise, the phone has a 6.4-inch ‘MaxVision’ OLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and a 4,000mAh battery – you even get to keep your headphone jack.

Motorola will release the phone in three colours: Cosmic Purple, Electric Gray and Brushed Bronze.

Availability in Australia hasn’t been announced, but the phone will be released in Europe this month for €429, and $449.95 in the US.

Moto e6 Plus
If the Motorola One Zoom is a bit too much for your tastes, Motorola has also announced the Moto e6 Plus which updates their E-series with a larger display and for the first time, a dual camera array.

The e6 Plus has a 6.1-inch ‘MaxVision’ 720p resolution display which includes a teardrop notch housing an 8MP selfie camera. The rear camera setup includes a 13MP sensor with a 2MP depth sensor.

Internally a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor runs the show, and options for 2GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64Gb storage (expandable via microSD card) will be available – though local options will be confirmed closer to launch.

The e6 Plus also includes two features fast disappearing from most mobile phones, a headphone jack and a removable 3000mAh battery which can be swapped out, if you can get your hands on a spare.

You’ll be able to get the phone in four colours – Caribbean Blue, Rich Cranberry, Bright Cherry, and Polished Graphite – though likely all four won’t make it here, if Motorola launch the phone down under.

There’s a lot to like about the e6 Plus and the price makes it even better with the phone priced from €139 with Motorola advising they’ll be bringing it to the Asia Pacific region later in the year – though thats no guarantee it’ll end up here.
