Huawei has today announced that the Nova 5T with flagship specs and a class leading 48MP rear camera sensor is launching in Australia for $699.
The phone will be available through JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, and Mobileciti from today in a gorgeous Crush Blue, as well as your standard Black. They’ve also included a fingerprint sensor on the side so the phone maintains clean lines on the rear.
Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Australia, Larking Huang said,
Huawei is known for class-leading performance, photography and design, and we are thrilled to bring these features to even more users. With our lightning fast Kirin 980 chipset, long lasting battery and pro-grade camera, users will experience features to a standard expected with flagship models, all for an unbelievable price.
For the sub-$700 price tag, the phone includes a 6.26-inch LCD display with tear drop notch housing a 32MP selfie camera, while on the rear you’ll find a 48MP main sensor, 16MP ultra-wide sensor and 2MP macro and bokeh lenses.
The phone is powered by the Kirin 980 processor, which was used on last year’s flagship Mate 20 handset, and also includes 8GB of RAM, 128GB of on-board storage.
For anyone looking for maximum life out of their phone, a 3,750mAh battery is included, and for times when you go beyond that, the Huawei SuperCharge fast-charger can re-charge 50 percent power in just 30 minutes.
Huawei is launching the Nova 5T with Android 9, though their customised UI, EMUI 9.1, is running over the top.
The announcement of the Nova 5T will bolster sales for Huawei who’ve also announced they’ve shipped 200 million smartphones to date this year, a full 64 days earlier than the same milestone last year.
The phone looks great, and with a top end processor it should handle all your day to day tasks with ease. We’ll be checking this one out for review shortly.
