The return to school is looming for students (and parents) and for some kids, that means a new phone to keep in contact. HMD Global has today announced the Nokia 2.3 will be hitting Australian shores offering great hardware at a great price, just in time for the new school year.
The Nokia 2.3 will sell for $199 when it hits our shores and for that price you get a 6.2-inch HD (1520×720) resolution display, quad-core Mediatek A22 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB of on-board storage (expandable with microSD card).
The phone includes a 13MP + 2MP dual sensor rear camera array which uses ‘AI powered image fusion to capture the perfect shot event in low light’. There’s also a 5MP selfie camera on the front in the tear-drop notch in the screen.

The phone launches with Android 9.0 (Pie), but will be getting updates to Android 10.0 shortly which will bring advanced parental controls, allowing parents to manage their kids’ apps and activity – a great idea for a kids first phone.
The Nokia 2.3 will go on-sale in Australia through JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Big W, The Good Guys and Officeworks on January 23rd for $199 in Cyan Green, Sand and Charcoal colour options.
Telstra will also be selling the Nokia 2.3 shortly as well.
