How to use Facebook Collections to organise the home schooling tips and tricks you find online!

Yep we are in the midst of big issues globally, but you know what my biggest issue is, the immediate realization that I will most likely be working from home AND supervising 3 young children with their distance learning.  Sounds so posh but it will be chaos, I can feel it.

Suddenly I am no longer searching for the COVID19 updates to feed my news junkie soul, now I need to find all the things that will help me get through this parenting gig with kids at home who need to learn.

Let’s leave behavior and addiction issues that might arise as a result of this new way of living and learning to the side for now!

I am a Facebook geek – and I LOVE saving articles for later when I have time at my leisure to read and learn….so here are a few quick tips on how to make the most of all the handy tips about homeschooling, that you never knew you would need – using Facebook Collections. {Thank you Facebook}!

Step One

When you see an article that you think will be helpful, click on the three little dots at the top right-hand side of the post.

Then click on “save link”

Step Two

You will see a screen show up asking you to create a “new collection”.  If you are like me, you might be typing the words “ Homeschooling” for the first time! Or simply call it what suits your family.

Click that circle so the blue dot is there and your article is saved for later.

Step Three

When you are ready to sit down and plan your new life of work from home, learn from home, self-isolation, bring up Facebook on your phone, click on the three horizontal lines on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and then click on the “saved” button.

Step Four

Your Collections will appear – no stress, now you can calmly sit down and make a plan for how you will navigate the kid’s distance learning and daily routines in this time of COVID 9 and distancing.

Step Five

Now you can get really creative, and invite your friends and family to your collection because you know, we are all in this together, and you never know what cool tips are showing up on your friend’s newsfeeds.  It is a cool way to still be helping each other out online whilst self-isolating

It won’t help to stop kids from fighting, but, it’s a great place to store all of the resources out there.
