HMD Global has announced the arrival of the Nokia 1.3 in Australian stores for a bargain basement price of just $169.

The phone was announced alongside the first 5G Nokia phone, the Nokia 8.3 last month, and stacks up well in terms of hardware and software for the price.

The Nokia 1.3 comes with a 5.71-inch HD+ resolution display and is powered by a Qualcomm 215 processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The Nokia 1.3 also comes with a removable 3,000 mAh battery – that’s quite the novelty.

The phone includes an 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera, but it’s the inclusion of Google’s Camera Go app which is important here. The Camera Go app is a lightweight version of Google’s main camera app, and is designed for their Android Go platform. The Camera Go app is included on the Nokia 1.3 and supports low-light AI image fusion technology and portrait mode, so it has potential.
