Huawei has today announced their latest smartwatch, the Huawei Watch GT 2e, is now available to buy in Australia for $349 in four great colours.

The Huawei Watch GT 2e is really interested in getting you moving and tracking your health, with over 100 workouts on-board and more advanced health tracking features including a new blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring feature.

The watch comes in a stylish steel case with a subtle radial pattern on the bezel which surrounds a 1.39 inch AMOLED 454 x 454 HD display. There’s subtle dual buttons on the side which won’t interfere with your workout.

The watch comes in four colours – Graphite Black, Lava Red, Mint Green and Icy White – with matching bands made from fluoroelastomer and breathable TPU material.

Under the hood, the watch uses Huawei’s proprietary Kirin A1 chip, 4 GB of storage and comes with a massive two-week long battery life. The watch is water resistant up to 5 atm, and supports Bluetooth 5.1 for a solid wireless connection.

Huawei is running their own custom software on the Watch GT 2e, but it includes all the great features you expect from a smart watch including sleep tracking, stress management features and heart rate monitoring to ensure you can see how you’re travelling.

There’s a bunch of sensors on board also to ensure you track all aspects of your workout with the Watch GT 2e able to track the duration, calories burnt, heart rate interval, exercise progress, recovery time and more.

As a sports buff, I’m very interested in the 100 workout modes, which includes 15 professional workout modes (eight outdoor and seven indoor activities) and 85 customised workout modes. After gym closures I’m ready to investigate some new workout modes as social distancing rules relax.

Larking Huang, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business in Australia said of the launch ‘Huawei continues to develop products that push the boundaries of technology and design, and the WATCH GT 2e is no exception. As the world continues to demonstrate an ever-growing interest in improved health and wellbeing, we are committed to delivering innovative devices that offer new features to help Aussies reach their personal goals. Designed to fit seamlessly into your everyday life, the WATCH GT 2e is evidence of how we are bringing smarter technology and solutions to Australian consumers.

In terms of availability, the Huawei Watch GT 2e will cost $349, with Huawei throwing in a bonus smart scale valued at $129 for anyone who purchases a watch before May 28th.

In terms of where you can get your hands on one, the only limitation really is the Mint Green which is being sold exclusively through Amazon (who have chosen not to carry the Icy White option). You can get the Graphite Black, Lava Red and Icy White models from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Mobileciti, Huawei Authorised Experienced Store Chatswood, Amazon and HappyTel.
