The tablet market isn’t slowing because there’s always people who have 3, 4 even 5 year old tablets looking for something new – along with many who are now realising a tablet is something needed in the home.

Samsung have long had competitive tablet models in the market, and make no mistake every model they have targets Apple’s iPad head on. Their latest product is aimed right at Apple’s entry level – the Galaxy Tab S6 lite will start at $549.

It features at 10.4 inch screen, with a 2000×1200 resolution and weighs just 465 grams.

It’s thin and light, but also comes with the Samsung S Pen included. This gives the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite a Galaxy Note like functionality. Making notes on the screen, taking notes while watching a YouTube video, and of course, filling in and signing PDF documents.

When you’re not using it, the S Pen clips onto the side magnetically or to the optional Book Cover case.

Buyers of the Tab S6 Lite will receive four months of YouTube premium.

For families, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite also features Samsung’s “Kids” mode, allowing parents to restrict apps just for kids, and also limit screen time.

Oh, and the 7,040mAh batter should offer a cracking good battery life.

Garry McGregor from Samsung Australia says “The Galaxy TabS6 Lite is created for those driven by productivity and creativity. We have designed the Tab S6 Lite to be portable and durable, so you can take productivity and entertainment wherever you go.

Australians have never been asked to adapt more quickly than in these times. As our work becomes more flexible, we want Australians to have a device that they can integrate seamlessly into their everyday lifestyle.

We’re thrilled that the Tab S6 Lite is the first Samsung tablet to feature the S Pen at this price range. The S Pen has been redesigned to be more comfortable in your hand and has many of the great features found in the Tab S6 S Pen.

The new Tab S6 Lite also meets the new entertainment demands and thanks to our on-going partnerships with Spotify, Google and Netflix, streaming content, connecting with loved ones, shopping online or connecting with friends easier and more enjoyable.

In summary, a powerful creativity tool that helps you stay productive.”

In Australia the Tab S6 Lite only comes in “Oxford Grey” but in four variants. 64GB and 128GB storage options, with both offering a WiFi only or a 4G option.

It’s available today, from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and Officeworks.
