Computer hardware maker Asus has today unveiled a new range of Zenbook laptops, as well as a newer, lighter version of their ExpertBook B9.

The new range includes 11th Gen Intel CPUs and Iris Xe with options for Nvidia graphics on selected models. The new laptop range adopts WiFi 6 for faster internet browsing, Thunderbolt 4 for faster data throughput via USB-C ports.

There’s also an IR Webcam included with support for Windows Hello login which makes it super convenient.

Asus is also doing something interesting with their audio on the new range with all laptops fitted with AI-Trained and ClearVoice Mic and Clearvoice Speaker to filter ambient noise from remote audio. This means the laptops can process sound to filter out unwanted background noise from other users streams.

Zenbooks

There’s five new Zenbooks announced in the range with the  ZenBook S (UX393), ZenBook Pro 15 (UX535), ZenBook Flip S (UX371), ZenBook 14 Ultralight (UX435EAL/EGL) and ZenBook 14 (UX435).

ZenBook S (UX393)

Starting with the new Zenbook S, which is a ultraportable laptop in a super clean designed chassis with diamond cut edges that reflect a gold/copper glow. There’s a 13.9″ PANTONE Validated touchscreen display in 3:2 form factor which has super slim bezels.

In terms of power there’s options for up to the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU with next-level Intel Iris Xe graphics. You’ll see options for up to 16 GB 4266 MHz LPDDR4 RAM, with up to 1TB NVMe 3.0 x4 M.2 SSD.

There’s a full array of I/O ports and an edge-to-edge keyboard and features ASUS NumberPad 2.0 which lights up a keypad in the trackpad.

ZenBook Pro 15 (UX535)

The Zenbook Pro 15 is actually a standout in the new range for a strange reason in that it ‘only’ features an 10th Gen Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, which only offer Thunderbolt 3 support. There is still options for 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Graphics and 1 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD.

The Zenbook Pro 15 will stand out with a huge 15.6″ 4K UHD OLED touchscreen with 100% DCI-P3 gamut for vivid, immersive visuals. That big screen gets a companion display called the ASUS ScreenPad. It’s a secondary touchscreen using Asus’ new ScreenXpert 2.0 software which lets you utilise efficient workflows.

The Zenbook Pro 15 has a powerful 96 Wh battery for extended battery life and the ErgoLift hinge will improve airflow for cooling and positions the laptop for more comfortable typing.

The laptop comes with Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, a USB Type-A port, HDMI and a full sized SD card slot. Wireless connectivity wise you’ll get support for WiFi 6.

ZenBook Flip S

For those looking for that full 2-in-1 experience the Zenbook Flip S is being called the ‘World’s thinnest OLED convertible’ by Asus. The Flip S features the 360° ErgoLift hinge attaching the 13.3″ OLED 4K UHD touch screen to the newly designed body which features an ‘elegant Jade Black finish, Red Copper diamond-cut highlights and brushed-aluminum deco bar’.

Asus is stacking the internals on this laptop with options for up to the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 16 GB 4266 MHz LPDDR4 RAM. Storage is expansive and fast with up to 1 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD storage available.

The Zenbook Flip S also includes a full range of I/O ports with a full-size HDMI port, two ultrafast Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port. You also get Wifi 6 support for fast wireless connections.

ZenBook 14 Ultralight

If you’re looking for something light, but powerful to keep with you on the go, the Zenbook 14 Ultralight is the way to go.

This ultralight packs a lot into the sub-1kg body including a 14″ LED-backlit FHD resolution IPS display in the four-sided frameless NanoEdge chassis.

There’s plenty of power with up to 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Xe or NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics, up to 16 GB 4266 MHz LPDDR4 RAM and 16 GB 4266 MHz LPDDR4 and up to a 1 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD, or a PCIe SSD accelerated with 32 GB of Intel Optane Memory H10.

The Zenbook 14 Ultralight also includes the ErgoLift hinge and the ASUS NumberPad 2.0 for fast data entry. There’s full I/O including 2 x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, full-size HDMI, microSD card reader, and audio jack.

ZenBook 14

Lastly the all-new Zenbook 14 is launching with a large 14″ LED-backlit FHD resolution four-sided frameless NanoEdge display with ultraslim bezels and a 92% screen-to-body ratio, as well as Asus’ upgraded ScreenPad secondary touchscreen.

The secondary touchscreen adds a new dimension to your workflows, with the Asus software automatically fitting many apps into its touchscreen. The secondary display will let you boost your productivity by giving you faster access to applications and information.

There’s a lot of power on offer with the Zenbook 14 with up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with integrated Intel Iris Xe or NVIDIA MX450 graphics. There’s up to 16 GB 4266 MHz LPDDR4 RAM available and up to 1 TB PCIe SSDs and WiFi 6.

It’s powerful, but still light weighing in at just 1.19 kg and just 16.9mm thin making it a great addition to any work bag.

ExpertBook B9

Asus has also unveiled their new ExpertBook B9, an update on the model launched earlier this year. The new version is lighter, and also offers more powerful processors with options for up to 11th Gen Intel CPU and Iris Xe graphics.

There’s also 32GB  4266MHz LPDDR4 RAM and huge storage options including up to dual 2 TB SSDs with support for RAID 0 and RAID 1 technology for improved data reliability or faster operation.

The laptop is just 14.9mm thin and weighs just 880 grams yet still includes a full array of I/O ports including dual Thunderbolt 4 ports featuring speeds up 40 Gbps as well as support for dual 4K display output and fast charging. There’s also a standard USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and HDMI ports, plus wired RJ45 LAN via micro HDMI port for network connectivity with a unique MAC address for easy device management.

The ExpertBook B9 also features quad 360° far-field microphones with support for AI noise cancellation and Cortana and Alexa voice-recognition support. Two integrated stereo speakers certified by Harman Kardon will offer clear sound for any Audio you want to play back.

A feature of note – to me at least – is that the accessory packaging is designed to use as a laptop stand. This box usually ends up in the recycling, or sometimes landfill but hopefully it may see some use on your desk for a while.

Availability
Unfortunately no pricing or release dates have been given for the new range of Asus laptops, but we’ve been told to expect further information in November.
