Priced at $399 AUD, the Doorbell 2 Pro offers a number of new features including a higher resolution 1536p video Head to Toe video, 3D Motion Detection, Bird’s Eye View and customisable privacy features.

For Ring the big news is the new 3D Motion Detection which utilises radar to detect the precise distance something is. This radar tech then lets you set monitored zones more precisely using distance thresholds. Once an object enters the zone, an alert is  triggered and recording can start.

The precise location offered by 3D Motion detection allows Ring to then build a Birds-Eye view of the alert and will then provide users with ‘an aerial view of the homeowner’s property and a map of where a motion event starts’.

As well as video features, Ring has included an array of microphones to improve audio quality which they say will limit sound distortion.

The doorbell does require a wired doorbell connection, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 will be available from April 1st for $399.00, you can pre-order now at Amazon.com.au, or you can check it out at Bunnings, JB Hi-Fi, Amazon.com.au, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Officeworks and Bing Lee after launch.
