Renders of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE show up in four colour options

The Galaxy S20 FE was a huge success for Samsung in 2020, and rumours of a Galaxy S21 FE have been circulating, now the first renders of the device have shown up and it’s looking good.

From leaker Evan Blass via his @evleaks account, the renders, in four colour options, Black, Olive Green, Lilac and White, show similar design sylings for the camera island as the Galaxy S21+.

While it has a similar look, the Galaxy S21 FE, or Fan Edition, will likely be more plastic than the glass and metal of the S21+, though still have some impressive features according to rumours. Rumours point to a high-end 6.5” AMOLED ‘Infinity-O’ display with a 120Hz refresh rate with in-display fingerprint sensor and Samsung built Exynos 2100 processor.

Samsung will apparently offer multiple storage and memory options with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, with rumours also pointing to Samsung dropping microSD card support.

In terms of camera, Samsung is looking to use triple 12MP sensors on the rear covering a main sensor with OIS, Ultra-Wide and telephoto. A 32MP selfie camera is expected to be found on the front in the Infinity-O display.

Finally, a 4,500mAh battery will be included with all the usual trimmings, including 25W fast charging as well as wireless charging (including reverse wireless).

The launch of the Galaxy S21 FE could also be serving as a mid-year boost for Samsung in light of rumours (via Reuters) that the Galaxy Note 21 won’t be announced this year. An eventuality that Blass also showed in a tweet containing a leaked mini roadmap of Samsung’s devices for 2021.

The Galaxy S21+ Ultra included S Pen support this year, so it’s very possible we may see similar support on the S21 FE in light of the absence of a Galaxy Note this year – but it is a high-end feature that Samsung likes to keep for their high-end devices, so it’s also possible it may remain a feature of their flagship S-series line.

The release date for the Galaxy S21 FE isn’t known, though if last years launch of the S20 FE at the end of September is any guide we do have a little time to wait.
