TCL Wear G smart glasses launching next month in Australia – $899

They’re not anything like Google Glass, or an intelligent smart device, but the TCL NXTWEAR G Smart Glasses are something that brings a big-screen viewing experience to you when you’re on the train, the bus, on the coach or in bed.

We took a look at a prototype of the NXTWEAR G Glasses earlier this year.

The product is actually quite simple (with respect to the hard working engineers who built it) – Two tiny OLED displays sit right in front of your eyes, but not so close that you can’t see more around you.

Because the glasses are quite open, you can glance down to see your keyboard if you wanted.

And over each ear is a small speaker too, so you get the full viewing experience.

The glasses themselves weigh just 100grams, add the cable and its another 30 grams. The cable ends in a USB-C connection, allowing you to plug them into any device that’s keen for an additional display.

If you’ve got a PC that uses USB-C you can extend or mirror your display. If you have a tablet or smartphone that will output a display via USB-C.

It’s great for watching Movies, but also, can be great for a “larger” screen on your device.

Australia will be one of the first markets to get the TCL NXTWEAR G Glasses, available next month at Harvey Norman for $899.
