Twitter is launching a new subscription service today called Twitter Blue. The service is launching first here in Australia as well as in Canada but only on iOS offering premium features on top of their usual free service.
Twitter Blue subscription will cost you $4.49 per month – with no free trial option – offering Folders in Bookmarks, Reader Mode and an Undo Tweet option.
To access Twitter Blue you will need an iOS device says Twitter, though they also clarify that an Android release is on the way in the ‘near future’, as well as more premium features.
The new features like the Folders in Bookmarks will let you better organise all those tweets you like, categorising them for easier access later on. The Reader Mode will let you follow long Twitter threads without a bunch of interruptions or ‘noise’ says Twitter.
Twitter’s ‘Undo Tweet’ option, is notably not the ‘Edit Tweet’ feature that users have been requesting for years. The Undo Tweet will give you a window of up to 30 seconds to edit a Tweet before it actually posts to your timeline – sort of an extended letting you tag someone you forgot or fix a typo etc.
There’s also other features for Twitter Blue subscribers ’access to perks, such as customizable app icons for their device’s home screen and fun color themes for their Twitter app, and will have access to dedicated subscription customer support’.
The service is live from today, and according to the Twitter Support page, the sign-up process for Twitter Blue will be available in the Profile menut of your Twitter for iOS app. Once in there you’ll see an option to tap Twitter Blue, then hit the Subscribe button.
