Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric Australian pricing : One spec only

Volvo’s first fully electric car will launch in Australia later this year and there’s no options to choose, no specifications to mull over, just the one Luxury spec which will set you back $76,990.

It’s an all-wheel drive mid-sized SUV with over 400km of range, and all the safety you’d expect from Volvo of course.

For those who keep tabs, the 0-100 time is 4.9 seconds, which actually makes this one of the snappiest Volvos ever made.

While 418km range isn’t industry leading by any measure, it’s also capable of fast charging, 0-80% in 40 minutes.

The Volvo XC40 will also be a fundamental change for owners in every way, there’s no key to insert, no stop/start button – you just get in – buckle your seatbelt and drive.

As part of the total re-invention of Volvo the XC40 is the first car in Australia to come with Google’s Android infotainment operating system with Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play Store built in.

The XC40 will hit Australia by the end of the year, the price isn’t low, but it’s certainly appealing and competitive for those currently in the market for a Tesla Model 3.
