Bose introduce the QuietComfort 45, the successor to their hugely popular QC35II headphones

Bose has today announced the long-awaited successor to the QC35II, the QuietComfort 45, bringing with them some handy new features including improve noise cancellation, an AWARE mode, better voice isolation and 24 hours of battery life.

The two noise cancelling settings of QUIET and AWARE modes are achieved using a new active noise cancellation system and electronics package. Microphones inside and outside of the earcups combine with a proprietary digital chip to “sense, measure, and respond” to external sounds — especially those in the mid-range which is where noises such as trains, office spaces and cafes sit. AWARE mode, as you would expect, are the opposite with the headphones switching to full transparency where every external noise is heard.

Voice calls and commands also benefit from the noise cancellation with surrounding distractions are picked up and prevented from being transmitted to whoever is on the other end of the conversation. No more need to put the ensure silence while in a ZOOM meeting with the noise cancelling promising a noise-free experience.

The design of the QuietComfort 45 headphones is similar to the QC35 II but this time with the pleats from the earcup leather removed, instead opting for a smooth material without any gaps between components. Once again they are lightweight, durable and fold flat to allow easy transport when you are mobile. There are four buttons on the right earcup to control playback, connectivity and power and one on the left earcup to toggle between AWARE and QUIET modes and to mute the mic during calls.

The headphones come with a USB-C charging port and offer up to 24 hours of battery life — great for when we eventually get to travel again. A full charge will take two hours but a quick top up of 15minutes will give you three hours of playback thanks to the fast charging included.

The new Bose QuietComfort 45 Headphones retail for $499.95 AUD is available for pre-order now at Bose.com.au and select resellers, shipping on September 24.
