Huawei has announced the latest in their smartwatch lineup with the Watch GT3 and Watch GT Runner available to buy in Australia from today.

The new Watch GT 3 will come in 42mm and 46mm with a steel case, while the Watch GT Runner comes in an ultra-light 46mm case made from polymer-fibre with ceramic finish and an aircraft grade aluminium crown, all weighing in at just 38.5grams.

The Watch GT 3 series supports tracking of over 100 Workout modes, with 6 workout modes automatically recognised. There’s 18 professional workout modes including 18 professional workout modes, 12 outdoor workouts, and 6 indoor workouts for getting into shape faster. The on-board AI able to account for factors including rest periods needed between workouts.

Huawei has improved the tracking for the Watch GT3, bringing the Dual-Band Five-system GNSS support from the Watch GT 2 Pro. This new system uses GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS satellite systems to track your workouts. The Watch GT Runner builds on this with antennas in the lugs for improved GPS performance.

The Watch GT Runner also includes the AI Running Coach with customised workouts that include recovery time to help you achieve your goals faster. The Watch GT Runner AI also builds a running ability index to help guide your training.

The Watch GT 3 series can do the usual step tracking, but also offers all-day Sp02 Monitoring and heart-rate monitoring, with a new 8-in-1 sensor which has a new curved design to better fit the wrist and conserve power.

The 46mm Watch GT 3 and Watch GT Runner will see 14 days of battery life, while the 42mm offers 7-days of battery life under usual use, with a magnetic charger included in the box.

After bringing Harmony OS to phones, Huawei is moving forward bringing the OS to the Watch range for the first time. This has also led to a new UI controlled by the rotating crown that can zoom you in and out of the app menu for easy access to apps. There’s a number of handy apps pre-installed on the watch, or you can check out the apps available for the Watch GT 3 through the Huawei App Gallery.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 will come in different looks. The 46mm model will come in black with an active band for $449 or you can get it with a stainless steel casing with a leather strap for $499. The smaller 42mm model will also be available with a black casing and active band with a $399 price tag, or you can switch to a gold casing with leather strap for $449 or milanese strap for $499.

The Watch GT Runner with its lightweight casing, improved GPS and silicone strap will be priced at $599.
