The new range of Galaxy Z foldables is offering more ways to connect with people, and Samsung is also offering a new way to shape your health and connect with the new Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro smartwatches running Google’s Wear OS 3.5.
Galaxy Watch5
The new Galaxy Watch5 offers more of the enhanced features that consumers have been using on their previous model, while the newest addition, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro offers their most durable and feature-packed watch yet.
The new Galaxy Watch5 series includes the Samsung BioActive Sensor introduced on the Galaxy Watch4 last year which combines Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart Signal and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis into a single chip and offers heart rate, blood oxygen level, and even stress level measuring. There’s also a new temperature sensor which uses infrared technology to ensure more accurate readings for a more complete and accurate view of your wellness.
As well as the new temperature sensor, Samsung has refined the design, offering a Crystal Sapphire display so you won’t scratch it, and the Galaxy Watch5, offers a 13% larger battery, which includes a fast charge function to offer eight hours of sleep tracking from just eight minutes of charge.
Galaxy Watch5 Pro
For those who want a more durable and slightly larger model, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro offers all the same features including the Sapphire Crystal but on a larger 45mm display and also includes a more durable titanium body. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro also includes a higher capacity battery and also comes with a new D-Buckle Sport band to complete the rugged look with a sleek, clean fit.
The new Watch5 Pro also supports GPX files, letting you import routes with waypoints – a first for the Galaxy Watch line. This feature will let you follow turn-by-turn directions, as well as record and share your trail workouts with other Samsung Health users in the Route Workout. Then when you’re finished you can use the Track Back feature to get you back to your starting point easily.
Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro will be available to pre-order from today, with sales starting on September 2nd.
Pricing for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro starts at $499 for the Bluetooth 40mm Watch5, and $599 for the LTE. The 44mm Watch 5 will start at $549 for the Bluetooth model and $649 for the LTE version.
Finally, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro will start at $799 for the Bluetooth model, or $849 for the LTE version.
