Skullcandy is not a manufacturer that leaps to the tongue when you think about gaming, but they are well known for producing decent quality headphones for an attractive price. Now they are re-entering the gaming scene with the all-new SLYR, SLYR Pro and PLYR gaming headsets.
These new purpose-built for gaming headsets promise to deliver “rich, detailed sound, crystal-clear communications and all-day comfort.” The three headsets cover three different prices with the top-of-the-line PLYR headset the flagship product at $249.95, the SLYR Pro the middle of the range $199.95 and their entry-level SLYR headset $149.95.

All three are multi-platform headsets with support for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and mobile and are built from tough lightweight materials with memory-foam ear cushions for comfort for long gaming sessions. The boom mics on the top two models include support for Skullcandy’s Clear Voice Smart mic software to remove background noise.
The flagship PLYR gaming headset is the only wireless headset in the range with Bluetooth 5.2 support and also sets itself apart with an adjustable suspension headband and includes more than 24 hours of battery life.
The SLYR Pro includes most of the features of the PLYR but is a wired gaming headset. Add in the more than 24 hours of battery life and built-in Tile Finding Technology that the PLYR headsets include.
The entry-level SLYR headset is the more affordable headset so misses out on some of the above features but includes a bi-directional mic, the Skullcandy Supreme Sound and the durable lightweight design.
Each headset is designed with a blend of old-skool gaming and a modern feel arriving in various colours. SLYR and SLYR Pro are being offered in three colourways: Black DigiHype, Green DigiHype and Blue DigiHype, with PLYR available in Black DigiHype.
