Now Suunto are releasing their latest sportwatch in Australia, the Suunto 9 Pear Pro GPS. It may be a mouthful of a name but it is there most powerful and sleek sportwatch yet.

Smartwatches are all the rage at the moment but unfortunately many smartwatches fall short for many of the more serious fitness fanatics out there. For these folks though there are still fitness-specific sportwatches available from various brands. One of these is Suunto, well known for being a high-end fitness watch the provides high quality fitness measurements and tracking.

The Suunto 9 Peak Pro brings a traditional watch design with some impressive technology inside. It has all this inside a package that is just 10.8mm thin and is one of the lightest watches in this class.

The Suunto 9 Peak Pro offers up to 21 days of normal use battery life before needing to be charged. The three main battery modes of Performance, Endurance and Tour offer 40 hours, 70 hours and 300 hours of battery life respectively. It can connect with up to four satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BEIDOU) so you can be sure it will deliver accurate tracking of your hikes, runs or rides!

The new sportwatch from Suunto also offers new watersport modes and will track data such as depth, dive time and water temperature under the surface down to 10 metres — it is waterproof down to -100m. Through various partnerships the Suunto 9 Peak Pro also offers various route-finding options, turn-by-turn guidance and advanced training tools. It has been tested to comply with the military toughness MIL-STD-810H so you can be sure it can handle whatever you throw at it.

As you would expect, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro is compatible with iOS and Android (tablets included) giving users the option to plan and review their adventures on the large screen.

The Suunto 9 Peak Pro is available in two titanium models (55gm) for $959 and four steel models (64gm) for $759 and includes sapphire glass on the display. The Suunto 9 Peak Pro is available now through Suunto Online Store, Bing Lee, The Good Guys and Find Your Feet.
