Hisense expands Mini LED TV range with new “Mini LED X” flagship technology

As the eyes of the tech world glance toward Las Vegas, Hisense has come out swinging with an impressive lineup of TVs for Australia in 2023, with a new Mini LED X technology in their flagship models

Mini LED technology will be the technology behind the entire Hisense ULED TV range this year with the relatively new technology offering a richer contrast to traditional full-array backlighting, but at a more affordable cost of manufacturing than OLED.

For perspective of the impressive stats involved in the new range, the flagship 85 inch model will feature 20,000 backlights, powering 2,500 nits of peak brightness across more than 5,000 dimming zones.

Hisense claim this to be the only TV in Australia to deliver this level of detail, clarity and depth – a big call given the overall market and stunning TV range across all brands.

Critical to the performance of the Hisense Mini LED X TV range will be the new proprietary Hi-View X Engine which is a 16 bit neural processor, capable of impressive upscaling, but also able to articulate a massive 65,536 levels of brightness.

One of the other notable improvements in 2023 is the construction of the panel, moving the Mini LEDs closer to the display, so there are better viewing angles where light blooming is far less of a problem.

With HDR10+, Dolby Vision IQ and IMAX Enhanced certification, there’s little to miss with this premium range, as Gideon Lui from Hisense Australia told EFTM “We’re incredibly proud of the continued innovation in our ULED range. We set an industry benchmark by incorporating a range of premium technologies, including Mini-LED for contrast, QLED for colour, 144Hz for unparralled motion and Dolby Vision IQ,”

“What better way to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of our ULED range than to offer our customers this impressive Mini-LED X technology for our performance-focused flagship model, and deliver the very best for Australian consumers,” continued Lui. 

For the true cinema nerds, it’s not just about picture quality either, a new CineStage X surround sound system is brought to life with a built in 4.1.2 true surround sound with Dolby Atmos and built-in up-firing speakers. Along the side of the TV are built-in speakers too so we’re expecting an impressive sound quality from this range.

Beneath the flagship Mini LED X range the wider Hisense ULED offering for 2023 puts forward Mini LED technology at prices Hisense say Mini LED has not been seen before.

With models from 55 inch to 98 inch, there’s going to be something for everyone, and Aussie sports fans will continue to love Hisense’s AI Sports Mode too.

For Gamers the entire 2023 ULED range will deliver 144Hz along with Variable Refresh Rates, Freesync Premium and Auto Low Latency Mode along with HDMI 2.1.

The new 2023 TV range will be underpinned by the Hisense VIDAA U7 operating system, which offers personalisation for each household member, parental controls, plus a strong content range now including Binge, 9Now, Apple TV+ and Britbox with more to come.

Hisense isn’t just offering Mini LED in 2023, there will also be two OLED models in 55 and 65 inch sizes.

For those opting for Hisense’s large size TV’s in 2023, a welcome design move from the company is the addition of adjustable legs on all TVs 75 inches and above, this means your smaller Entertainment unit can cope with a larger TV. Simple, but brilliant.
