NVIDIA announces new Ultimate tier for GeForce Now offering RTX 4080 game streaming

The new RTX 40 series GPUs aren’t a cheap upgrade for most, but NVIDIA has another option for gamers wanting to take advantage of the performance benefits in their game streaming service GeForce Now. Today NVIDIA have announced that the service will begin offering a new tier on GeForce Now offering servers running the GeForce RTX 4080.

The new Ultimate tier will offer users games streaming at up to 240 frames per second from the cloud says NVIDIA, with support for full ray tracing and their newly announced DLSS 3 which uses AI to create additional high-quality frames.

There’s benefits too for those using G-Sync enabled monitors, with lower latency thanks to NVIDIA Reflex, with click-to-pixel latency now below 40 milliseconds.

NVIDIA has also announced that they will begin offering 4K gaming at 120fps, with support now available for ultrawide monitors at up to 3840×1600 resolution.
In terms of when you can get your hands on the service, NVIDIA says the new RTX 4080 ‘SuperPODs’ will begin appearing first in North America and Europe with ‘continued rollout over the months to follow’ which we are hoping extends to our local GeForce Now service provided in partnership with Pentanet. Once it does arrive, NVIDIA will update existing RTX 3080 tier members to the new tier automatically.
