There’s a lot of dropped phones in Australia, and Nokia want to do something about it. They’ve been releasing more and more durable phone, but their latest phone, the Nokia XR21 is designed to take what you can throw at it.
When it comes to hardiness, there’s a lot of factors to take into account, but the Nokia XR21 can has MIL-STD-810H certification and can be dunked in 1.5m of water for an hour, survive being dropped from 1.8m high, Withstand a 100-bar pressure water jet at 80°C and even operate in -20°C weather – the 6.49” 120Hz display can also be used with gloves, or if your hands are wet.
Nokia are confident in this latest ruggedised handset. They are offering years of guarantees, starting with three years of warranty and a one-year screen replacement guarantee, as well as four years of security updates and three years of OS upgrades.
Nokia have been managing to balance their design and hardware with durability over the last few generations and the XR21 looks great in both green or black colour options. It’s also got a good amount of power underneath as well, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage with a battery that lasts up to 2 days.
Nokia have been improving their camera systems too with each generation, with the Nokia XR21 sporting a dual array on the back including a 64MP main sensor and 8MP UltraWide and a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
Brenden Folitarik, HMD Global’s Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, says:
“We know Australians love their smartphones and that they go through a lot of wear and tear in their lifetime. From parents of toddlers, to tradies and outdoor adventure-lovers, the Nokia XR21 has been built for every day and for everyone. We’re so confident, you can take the Nokia XR21 anywhere in Australia where you can capture those special moments, and should the worst happen, we offer a one-year screen replacement guarantee,”
