Last year OPPO released the OPPO Pad Air into the Australian market and priced at just $379 it was not surprising that it sold out in a very quick time. Now they have taken the wraps off their new tablet, the Pad 2, aimed to offer a premium tablet similar to an iPad at a more affordable price.
The OPPO Pad 2 brings an industry-first 7:5 aspect ratio display which offers an almost 10% expanded viewing area compared to a similar screen size in a 16:10 aspect ratio seen in most Android tablets.
The display itself is an 11.6-inch 2800 x 2000 resolution for improved clarity and a 144Hz refresh rate for a buttery smooth software experience. The refresh rate adapts itself to what is on the display at that time and offers five different refresh rates for smoother visuals while also limiting battery consumption.
Accompanying the display are four speakers with support for Dolby Atmos resulting in a theatre-like experience.
The Pad 2 is powered by MediaTek’s flagship chipset platform, the Dimensity 9000, partnered with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS3.1 flash memory for a fast. Smooth experience.
The 9,510mAh battery will provide you with up to 12.4 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge. If you do run out of power the tablet will charge extremely quickly with the support for 67W SUPERVOOC flash charging – fast enough to charge from empty to full in just 81 minutes (keep in mind the battery is more than twice what most phone batteries are).
The OPPO Pad 2 is just 6.54mm thick and weighs just 552 grams making it easily portable and usable.
A range of accessories are available for the OPPO Pad 2 including the OPPO Pad 2 Smart Touchpad Keyboard, the OPPO Pencil, and the OPPO Pad 2 Smart Case.
The OPPO Pad 2 (8GB+256GB) is priced at $699. For the accessories, the OPPO Pad 2 Smart Touchpad Keyboard is priced at $159, the OPPO Pencil is priced at $79 and the OPPO Pad 2 Smart Case is priced at $79.
