Meta launches Verified for Business in Australia allowing businesses to get support and protection for their accounts

Earlier this year Meta (Facebook’s parent company) announced their Meta Verified program, allowing individuals to pay for the Blue Tick and get access to proactive account impersonation protection and customer support. Today, that’s available to Aussie businesses too.

Harry Lowes, head of Small and Medium Business at Meta in Australia says  “We’ve been hearing from businesses that they’re eager to build more credibility and get greater visibility, so we’re excited to start rolling out Meta Verified for businesses in Australia, which will help people know that the businesses they’re engaging with are validated and authentic. We’ll continue to evolve what’s included in the subscriber toolkit to make sure we’re bringing the best value to businesses.”

The monthly cost for businesses is $45.99 and while that might seem like a lot, for a business already paying well more than that for cloud services like accounts and other things including internet security, it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.

You see, for that fee, you get proactive monitoring for impersonation, as well as access to account support.

So if you have an issue with your ad service, or any issues on the account then you can reach out and rely on Meta support to be there for you.

Plus you get the Blue tick of authority, and also priority in search and comments across the platform.

We can debate for days the fact you need to pay to get customer service from a company making billions from us and our usage of the platform – but it’s the way it is these days.

Importantly, signing up for Meta Verified for Business requires some rigour from a business to confirm ownership, as well as ensuring the business is using Two Factor Authentication for any login, which in it of itself will be a big leap forward for your account protection.

Like the personal edition, I understand the fee is seperate for each platform you sign up on, Instagram and Facebook.

If you are running your business on Facebook, using it for customer care, or even sales – you can sign up at the Meta Website
