Amazon have expanded their Eero Wifi router offerings in Australia with the arrival of the eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E offering improved peformance.
The eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E offer the companies first mesh systems supporting Wifi 7 and Wifi 6E respectively, with both systems available as a single router, or in a three-pack.
Both the eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E include support for a range of excellent features including an easy setup process and updates for secure patches and bug fixes through the eero app (available for iOS and Android) and is backwards compatible with previous eero devices, making for an easy way to upgrade or evolve your home wifi network.
Both the eero Max 7 and eero Pro 6E, like previous eero devices, support the Matter smart home standard, allowing customers to set up select Matter-enabled devices, as well as having the routers act as a Thread Border Router and features a built-in Zigbee smart home hub to connect compatible smart home devices on your network.
The base eero service offers a lot, though you can add in the eero Plus subscription ($159.99/year or $15.99/month) offfering advanced online security features and parental controls, as well as access to three top-rated security apps: 1Password for password management, Malwarebytes for malware and anti-virus protection, and Guardian for VPN access
Amazon also advises the eero range is covered by free customer support, with the expert eero Wi-Fi troubleshooting team ready to help by phone or email seven days per week.
eero Max 7
The eero Max 7 brings tri-band capabilities, with support for the 6GHz band in addition to the usually more crowded 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and is able to deliver more than twice the speed of Wi-Fi 6 with wireless speeds reaching up to 4.3Gbps, while wired speeds can reach up to 9.4Gbps, giving you the potential to download a 4K movie in 10 seconds or a 50-gigabyte video game in less than a minute.
There’s two 10 Gb Ethernet ports, and two 2.5 Gb ethernet ports on the rear for backhaul connecting the routers physically, or just adding in more hard-wired devices.

The router can support devices in a 230 square metre area, with the option to add another unit in a mesh to up the coverage.
eero Pro 6E
If you’re not quite needing the speed of the eero Max 7, the eero Pro 6E also supports tri-band capabilities, though with network speeds up to 2.3 Gbps (a gigabit wired and 1.3 Gbps wireless).
Amazon are including some physical ethernet connectors on the rear of the eero Pro 6E, with a single 2.5 Gb, and one 1 Gb Ethernet port on each device.

The eero Pro 6E also supports a wide range, with a single eero Pro 6E able to cover up to 190 square metres, while a 3-pack can cover up to 560 square metres.
