Lenovo unveils new Snapdragon Elite powered Yoga and ThinkPad Copilot Plus PCs

At their event in Seattle overnight, Microsoft unveiled the new generation of PCs with offering power, performance and breakthrough AI experiences. Lenovo has announced their Copilot+ PCs this morning with a new Yoga Slim 7x and ThinkPad T14s Gen 6.

The new series of Copilot+ PCs will all have a minimum spec of 16GB of RAM, 256GB SSD storage and a dedicated NPU – Neural Processing Unit, which these new Lenovo Yoga and ThinkPad models handily beat.

Aimed at consumers and business customers, the new Yoga Slim 7x and Thinkpad T14s are powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor which includes a 12-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, Qualcomm Adreno GPU and a dedicated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, which is capable of up to 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second), including offline access to the Large Language Model (LLM)

The new laptops are of course powered by the latest Windows 11 which have the latest enhancements from Microsoft and Copilot+ which includes the ability to ‘assist in composing compelling text, crafting engaging visuals, and streamlining common productivity tasks’ says Lenovo.

Yoga Slim 7x

The new Yoga Slim 7x will be going on-sale shortly, with pre-orders opening today. The laptop includes a 14.5-inch 3K resolution 90Hz refresh OLED touch display with 100% sRGB and P3 colour gamut support  and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

The Yoga Slim 7x comes in a stylish Cosmic Blue colourway and is fairly lightweight at 1.28kg and is just 12.9mm thick. There’s a spacious Premium Suite keyboard with 1.5mm key travel with dish keycaps for comfortable typing, and a large trackpad below.

There’s 32GB of RAM and a 1TB Gen 4 M.2 SSD powered by a 70WHr battery which includes multi-day battery life according to Lenovo. There’s great connectivity options with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, though no LTE options.

ThinkPad T14s Gen 6

Aimed at the enterprise market and including their ThinkShield security suite, the new ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is aimed at bringing AI functionality to the corporate environment.

Featuring seamless integration across Microsoft 365 applications, as well as access to on-device generative AI and machine learning, it’s a significant step forward in AI-powered PCs for commercial use, says Lenovo.

Including a 14” display in an ultrathin form factor which comes in a very corporate pleasing Eclipse Black colour, the ThinkPad T14s will have a range of options ranging up to a 14-inch  2.8K resolution OLED panel with DCI-P3 support.

The panels play a part in performance, with Lenovo advising that some of the more energy-efficient low-power display panels are capable of supporting multi-day battery life, though on a smaller 58WHr battery.

The ThinkPad T14s includes 64GB of RAM, with a 1TB Gen 4 M.2 SSD, and on the security side includes the sam FHD + IR MIPI Camera as the Yoga Slim 7x, though with a privacy shutter, and also includes a fingerprint scanner in the power button for additional options for login.

Availability

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x is going up for pre-order from today at Lenovo.com.au, Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, JB HiFi, Officeworks and The Good Guys with prices starting from $2,499 AUD.

At this stage Lenovo hasn’t announced any pricing or availability for the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, with those details still being confirmed.
