The clock is ticking for Nissan Patrol fans to secure a V8 before it’s too late.
The new generation Nissan Patrol has been unveiled with twin turbo V6 petrol power instead of a V8.

Although the covers came off the seven-generation model during the global reveal in the Middle East overnight, it is not due in Australian showrooms until late 2026 – roughly two years from now.
The current Nissan Patrol V8 will remain in production and on sale in the interim, though there may be a ‘blackout’ period in the lead-up to the changeover to the new model.

Highlights for the 2026 Nissan Patrol include:
- Twin turbo 3.5-litre V6 petrol power (317kW/700Nm) replaces current 5.6-litre V8 petrol (298kW/560Nm)
- Nine-speed automatic replaces current seven-speed auto
- All new body and interior but the same ‘footprint’ as before
- Widescreen instrument and infotainment screens on top model
- Heads-up display on top model
- 22-inch wheels on top model
- Air suspension on top model
- 12-speaker Klipsch premium audio on top model
- 64 ambient colour lighting on top model
- Google Play, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- A non-turbo 3.8-litre V6 is offered in the Middle East but not planned for Australia
- Right-hand-drive production for Australia due in 2026
- Left-hand-drive production for overseas markets due in 2025
- Made in Japan (as with the current model) but unveiled in the Middle East as that is the biggest market for Nissan Patrol
