Until the end of next month, the price of the MG4 has been slashed by up to $10,000 – to $30,990 drive-away – making it Australia’s cheapest electric car, undercutting fellow Chinese rivals such as the GWM Ora ($35,990 drive-away) and the BYD Dolphin ($39,200 drive-away).

The base model MG4 51 Excite (to give its full name) is $30,990 drive-away nationally from 21 September to 31 October 2024.

The deal amounts to a saving of between $8000 to $10,000 (in round numbers) compared to the normal drive-away price.

The discount varies because each Australian state and territory charges different registration and stamp duty fees.

However for a limited time the base model MG4 51 Excite will be available for one national drive-away price of $30,990 while stock lasts.

The MG4 51 Excite is equipped with a 51kWh battery pack and has a claimed maximum driving range of about 350km in ideal conditions.

There are also discounts on the rest of the MG4 range – including the hot hatch X-Power – however the final drive-away prices vary according to stamp duty and registration in each state.

The discounts also vary depending on whether the vehicle is a 2023 build ($6000 discount) or a 2024 build ($5000 discount).

Here are the MG4 discount offers until 31 October 2024.
