We’ve grown to trust in the smartphone dummy models which leak from factories in China and the latest to hit our studio is likely a key insight into the next iPhone – the iPhone SE 4th generation.

We’ve never had an Apple leak lead us astray with these dummy devices so far, so we’ve got a strong confidence in this being the iPhone SE 4th Generation and the dummy alone reveals a lot.

iPhone SE 4th Gen Camera:

A single camera is all that adorns the back of this model and that suggests the pattern of iPhone SE devices continues, with a Single Camera system.

However, we expect Apple to hype up the software features that have allowed some portrait style depth of field on non-portrait photos, as well as photographic styles and general camera quality.

Does the iPhone SE have a notch or dynamic island?

We can see, in the right light and the right angle, that the iPhone SE will likely have a Notch, similar to the iPhone 13 range and base model iPhone 14.

Dynamic Island introduced after that is a newer screen technology and would push the price of this entry level device up, so we’re confident there will only be a notch on iPhone SE in 2025.

Is the iPhone SE the death of the Apple Home button?

There’s most certainly not home button on the new iPhone SE.

While many people purchased the iPhone SE for it’s home button while newer models moved to full screen swipe gestures, that age is over and it’s time to move with the times folks – the Home button is dead. There is, after this device, no longer any Apple product with a physical home button.

How big is the iPhone SE 4th Gen in 2025?

This device is bang on the size of the iPhone 16 entry level model – so for now we’ll call it a 6.1 inch display, but exterior dimensions are remarkably similar to the iPhone 16 we sat it next to.

Action button or Toggle Switch?

There is no action button, so iPhone SE continues the toggle for your sounds to be mute or otherwise, which will please those clinging onto such features.

Camera Control?

On the right hand side there is no sign of an additional button for Camera control.

That’s a feature unique to iPhone 16 models only.

Will iPhone SE have Apple Intelligence?

We can only speculate as to the power inside the device, but we expect it to shop with A17 Pro or later, making it Apple Intelligence compatible.

It seems crazy to launch a new model without that in 2025, so we’re pretty sure to bet on that one.

USB-C or Lightning charging on iPhone SE 4th Generation?

Interestingly our Dummy model was inconclusive on this. Previous dummy’s did clearly mark USB-C with the internal pins and space, but this model did not.

However, unless Apple is going to market this outside of Europe only, it’s certain to me that this will be a USB-C powered device.

How much will the iPhone SE 4th Generation cost?

In 2022 the iPhone SE 3rd generation launched at $719, and while we’d love to see that price, it’s unlikely given the increase in size.

At a guess, this is more likely an $849 device, a price that would still make it competitive for wannabe iPhone owners.

When will the iPhone SE go on sale?

No word from Apple on this device at all, literally every bit of this is speculation, backed only by the physical evidence and our faith in the dummy’s we’ve received over many many years.

At a guess, this device will be announced in March.
