At CES, LG has shown off a number of new devices coming in the next year. One of the biggest announcements for gamers though is you’ll be able to stream Xbox games to the new Gaming Portal on your LG Smart TV .
Announced by Microsoft and LG, ‘later this year’, Xbox GamePass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play popular titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and upcoming releases like Avowed directly from the Xbox app on supported LG Smart TVs using Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Chris Jo, senior vice president of platform business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company
“We are thrilled to announce the partnership with Xbox, which aims to enrich the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs with a broader selection of popular games. The Gaming Portal will provide users with a seamless, convenient and exciting way to enhance the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs.”
The Gaming Portal on LG TVs will have an easy to use interface, directly accessible from the Home Screen in Web OS on supported TVs. LG’s Gaming Portal will provide a list of games, including ‘an app list that includes cloud gaming apps, webOS app games playable with the remote controller, recently played titles, the top 10 most popular games, editor’s picks, and other tailored, user-friendly gaming experiences’.
It’s been almost two years since Samsung launched Xbox Game Streaming on their Smart TV range, so seeing it expanding to more players on more screens is great news.
I’ve completed the new Indiana Jones and the Great Circle exclusively streaming it on my Samsung Frame TV using Xbox Cloud Gaming and it’s been pretty great. Can’t wait to get it across all my Smart TVs.
