Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference date set for June 9, new iPhone operating system and time to talk Siri?

Apple has announced the date of their annual Worldwide Developers Conference for 2025 and while it’s always a big event, all eyes will be on Apple as they look to firm up their AI program and address concerns around lack of Siri evolution.

The conference, which since Covid-19 has been an online event, will kick off at Apple Park with an in-person Keynote. At this keynote Apple CEO Tim Cook and his executive team will update developers, and indirectly customers on the status of recent updates as well as new initiatives and features planned for Apple’s various operating systems

These include iPhone’s iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, Watch OS, VisionOS and Apple TV.

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

Apple Intelligence was announced at last year’s event, then rolled out toward the end of that year – some of the features of Apple Intelligence – notably a more personalised Siri experience are yet to make it into the end-user product, raising concerns among industry observers about just how ready Apple is for this world of AI.

While a new look iOS 19 and some innovative new features will headline, all eyes will be on how Apple addresses this raging AI war that’s going on in the world of Tech.
