Ring has announced that Australia and New Zealand will be two of the first countries to receive their new Smart Video Search.

Smart Video Search is powered by Ring IQ, a combination of Ring AI technology and Ring’s in-house expertise, uses Visual Language Modelling to match text to images to deliver results for any queries thrown at it. It allows the user to type a search into the app to locate a particular scene rather than having to scroll through all of their saved videos and screenshots to get the image and video they want.

You’re likely already familiar with our package, person, and motion alerts which help you manage what’s happening at your front door or find out when a package arrived, but historically, finding a specific moment can take more time than you might have. With Smart Video Search, you can now quickly find something you’re looking for – and even some surprising moments – giving you a better sense of what’s happening around your home.

Smart Video Search is still in public beta form and is available in Australia and New Zealand from today. Smart Video Search works with all Ring video doorbells and cameras. It is rolling out today in public beta to all Australia and New Zealand customers who are subscribed to a Ring Home Premium plan. Ring Home Premium is available for A$29.95 per month/ A$299.95 per year in Australia and NZ$29.95 per month/ NZ$299.95 per year in New Zealand.
