Uniden has announced its new partnership with ivygo, “the Airbnb of EV charging.” ivygo is an EV-charging platform that allows everyday Aussies to lease out their EV chargers to other EV owners and drivers.
The new partnership helps hosts of a charger feel more secure with the use of Uniden security cameras and dash cams offered as part of the ivygo peer-to-peer charging network. Hosts will be able to protect their chargers by viewing them at any time and reviewing footage captured in the past. The dash cams are for the drivers to feel more secure on the road and while charging their car — you could set the car up to charge and then head off and grab a coffee, all while being able to view the car and its surroundings using the dash cam.

Having experienced Australia’s lack of true charging infrastructure (not much point having so many chargers when there are so many broken and waiting to be fixed), I can say that we need a solution such as ivygo which can offer improved EV charger availability and reliability. ivygo is providing the charger availability, while the Uniden side of the partnership will be providing the security.
