Alienware has announced that it is releasing new Aurora laptops for the first time in nearly 20 years. The new laptops are designed to blend into the environment and allow gamers to game anywhere.

The launch of the new line demarcates the divergence of the Alienware laptops into two distinct tiers:

  • Area-51: The flagship tier designed for those after maximum performance and premium features.
  • Aurora: The versatility tier delivers strong performance with a sleek, streamlined form factor.

The new Aurora laptops bring both ergonomic and thermal advancements to deliver comfort alongside performance in a more portable form factor.  The new form factor allows the gaming laptop to be used across all environments while looking sleek with its Interstellar Indigo satin finish and adorned with an iridescent badge.

The rear thermal shelf that dominates the Area 51 laptops has been nixed in favour of a thermal package located beneath the laptop.  The thermal package is located where a tall rear foot would usually be situated.  This new Cryo Chamber maximises airflow intake and efficiently expels heat through vents throughout the laptop.

The Cryo Chamber maximises air intake using four exhaust vents, three copper heat pipes, air intakes above the keyboard and dual blade fans, all to help dissipate the heat generated while gaming.

The display is a new 16-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a brightness of 500 nits.  NVIDIA G-SYNC support also helps with display precision to deliver premium gaming.

The new Aurora laptops now include Stealth Mode and a dedicated implementation button. This allows users to turn the keyboard backlighting white and shift the mode from performance to quiet to extend battery life and quieten the fan noise.

The new design of the Aurora laptops makes them great for gaming and browsing, travelling and everyday tasks.  Design choices made to make this possible include:

  • Fluid contours make the laptop easier to hold and carry
  • Pillowed palm rest for extended typing sessions
  • The ability to open the laptop with one hand, thanks to the new chamfered front edge
  • Ports are now placed in the rear to allow for seamless mouse movement.

The Alienware Aurora allows you to take your gaming anywhere while comfortably completing your productivity tasks and more at any time. It is powered by up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs and can generate images at an unprecedented speed.

If you don’t need an RTX 50 series GPU, you can choose an RTX 30 or 40 series laptop GPU instead.

The all-new Aurora laptop will be offered in two options:

  • Alienware Aurora 16 the entry model.
  • Alienware 16X Aurora – for gamers seeking a more premium gaming experience.

Select configurations of Alienware Aurora Laptops will launch in Australia on May 28, 2025, and additional models will arrive soon after.
