Eufy has launched the S3 Max Video Smart Lock, its first smart lock with palm-vein recognition technology.

The new S3 Max is designed for easy use by people of all ages and levels of tech knowledge. Its best-in-class technology and integration with the full eufy security system make it ideal for this audience.

The S3 Max Video Smart Lock maps the user’s palm vein and can store up to 50 different palm veins, delivering the ability to unlock the door without touching anything. Based on eufy laboratory data following palm-vein operation protocols, palm vein recognition has an accuracy of 99.99999%.

To register a palm, simply wave it over the infrared sensor. The sensor records a comprehensive scan of the hand, which is matched to (or not to) the database stored within the smart lock. If the data matches, the S3 Max unlocks in as little as 0.1 seconds.

The S3 Max Video Smart Lock also includes a camera, doorbell and integrated back screen. The 2K integrated camera delivers 150° vertical FOV and a 180° diagonal view, allowing the camera to capture blind spots near the doorstep. The back video screen is activated within one second of detecting movement, allowing immediate vision of who is at the door.

The S3 Max Video Smart Lock houses four AAA batteries and a 15,000mAh rechargeable lithium battery for long-lasting dual power sources. The system can maintain power and the lock’s full functionality for up to six months and basic function for up to 12 months.

The smart lock includes a sensor that continuously checks to determine if the lock is fully engaged.

The new smart lock includes support for Matter over Wi-Fi and is compatible with Apple Home and the eufy ecosystem.

The S3 Max Video Smart Lock is available online for $899.95 on the eufy website and Harvey Norman. In mid-July it will also be available at JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys.
