LG has announced some new additions to their mobile audio line-up, with three new xboom portable speakers.

The three new speakers, the LG xboom Stage 301, the LG xboom Bounce, and the LG xboom Grab, have been designed in partnership with eight-time Grammy Award winner and LG’s Experiential Architect for xboom, will.i.am.

The speakers will be manufactured by Peerless, and include two distinct audio modes, says LG, ‘one that energises with dynamic bass, and another that soothes with mellow, calming tones’.

Tony Brown, General Manager, Home Entertainment & Content Business Marketing at LG Electronics ANZ commented:

With the ‘xboom by will.i.am’ range, LG is enhancing the audio experience and reinforcing our commitment to making life good through innovation. will.i.am’s artistic vision and technological expertise have come together in an LG speaker range that sounds and looks great, seamlessly integrating into any lifestyle.

These speakers are the perfect companion, whether individuals are entertaining at home or taking music on the go. Our partnership with will.i.am ensures music becomes an even more integral and convenient part of daily life, making every moment enjoyable.”

The xboom 301 has a versatile wedge design with dual light bar that can play 9 lighting modes, or match your audio using AI. The speaker can be sat upright, or angled up, with Smart AI Sound and AI Calibration to tune the speaker in every space, to offer the best possible sound.

For performers, the xboom 301 includes a Karaoke mode, with the option to plug in a microphone.

The speaker has a carry handle for transport, and includes an IPx4 rating so you can use it with confidence almost anywhere.

The xboom 301 will be arriving in Australia in the coming months, with pricing set at $449 AUD.

xboom bounce

For those wanting something more portable, the xboom bounce includes a powerful sound system when you’re on the go, including dual dome tweeters and dual passive radiators for a dynamic and full-range sound experience.

The speaker includes a built-in mic for pairing to your phone, with support for LG’s ThinQ app for local playback, or syncing with Apple Music. You can also control the lighting and audio modes from your phone.

LG has also included their AI Sound and AI Calibration features in the xboom Bounce, so you’re assured of great quality audio in any surroundings.

The xboom bounce has been designed with everyday use in mind, passing seven U.S. military-standard tests for resistance to shock, vibration, high temperature, and immersion – and comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

The portable speaker includes a battery capable of up to 30 hours playback on a single charge, perfect for a weekend of camping.

The xboom bounce comes in a capsule-shaped form-factor allowing for easy transport.

No dates for the launch of the xboom bounce, but we’ll be seeing it in-store at retailers over the coming months for $299

xboom Grab

For true portability, the LG xboom Grab offers an audio experience tuned by will.i.am, with a high-quality dome tweeter, manufactured by Peerless which ‘enhances treble clarity and dynamic range, producing crisp, detailed sound in any setting’, with a built-in microphone for hands-free voice calling.

The tube shaped speaker is designed for portability and includes an adjustable strap, letting you carry it comfortably in one hand,  or clipped, or hung on a bag for on-the-go listening – with battery playback lasting up to 20 hours.

LG has also included AI Sound and AI Calibration in the xboom Grab, giving you tuned sound with output calibrated for different environments – though you can also manually select your preferred mode.
