Razer announces the BlackWidow V4 Low-profile keyboards — high performance gaming in style and comfort

Razer is at it again today, this time announcing the new Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-profile HyperSpeed and Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-profile Tenkeyless HyperSpeed keyboards.

Both keyboards arrive with cutting-edge performance with new ergonomics for a slimmer form factor. They also include Razer HyperSpeed Wireless technology, macro buttons and controls and Razer Low-profile Mechanical Switches.

As one of the most iconic and recognizable keyboards in the industry, it has consistently set the benchmark for performance and immersion,” said Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division. “With the BlackWidow V4 Low profile line, we’re introducing a new form factor that meets the evolving needs of gamers, while staying true to the immersive experience that defines the BlackWidow legacy.”

The new keyboards arrive with Razer’s new low-profile mechanical switches in green (clicky), yellow (linear), and orange (tactile) switches. The keys deliver the same keystroke but in a more ergonomic design with the lower keys encouraging a more natural wrist alignment to aid comfort when engaging in long gaming sessions. The front height of just 18.5mm also helps to improve comfort as well

Thanks to a unique circular stem wall, the Razer Chroma RGB lighting can still shine through the low-profile keys offering high quality, customisable RGB lighting. The switches are all factory-lubricated and offer stability with minimal wobble for improved performance and accuracy. The switches will handle the rigors of intense gaming, rated to 80 million keystrokes, 1.6 times the industry standard.

The keyboards are a solid build with a premium aluminium alloy top case with dual sound-dampening foam layers, pre-lubricated stabilisers, and a stainless stell plate.

As you may expect from the name of the keyboards, the new BlackWidow keyboards support Razer HyperSpeed Wireless connectivity using the included dongle, which can also be used to simultaneously pair a compatible mouse. The 2.4GHz HyperSpeed connectivity allows for a polling speed of up to 1,000Hz to minimise an lag in the responsiveness.

Also incldued is Razer Snap Tap which prioritises the latest input between two keys without having to release the first to improving lag and responsiveness even more.

The keyboards include a power saving mode which can extend the battery life up to 980 hours making it ideal for that extended gaming session.

The Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-profile HyperSpeed is priced at $359.95 AUD / $409.95 NZD RRP and the Razer BlackWidow V4 Low-profile Tenkeyless HyperSpeed at $299.95 AUD / $349.95 NZD RRP. They are both available now at Razer.com and select retailers worldwide.
