Plenty of haters out there have suggested Apple has walked away from it’s pricey Augmented Reality headset the Apple Vision Pro, however with an upgrade in performance and specs overnight it seems Apple is very much still invested in Spatial Computing.
Sticking with the $5,999 price tag, this one isn’t for everyone – that’s for sure, but when you throw in some juicy extra performance things step up a level.
The original Vision Pro had the M2 Apple Silicon so jumping to M5 really brings it to a generational leap that should last until the next big release – which many believe will be a “non Pro” model to bring Spatial computing to more people.
With the M5 Chip you now get more CPU cores and upgraded GPU’s with accelerated ray tracing). While the micro OLED displays are the same, there’s a higher effective resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate which will ease the eyes too.
Overall performance is better, and battery life is up by half an hour.

Outside of performance, Apple has re-designed their Knit headband with a new Dual Knit offering top and back support which has an innovative adjustable fit-dial to adjust top and back bands independently.
