Samsung and Google’s XR Headset is getting announced next week

Samsung and Google are set to unveil their new Android Extended Reality (XR) headset in just over a week, with a Galaxy Unpacked event titled Worlds Wide Open slated for October 21st.

Codenamed Project Moohan, the headset has been co-developed with Google and Qualcomm and is the ‘first product built for the open and scalable Android XR platform’ and is ready to blend ‘ everyday utility with immersive new experiences’ which they showed off in this teaser video.

Samsung says that the Android XR headset is A New Era of Multimodal AI, with the headset designed to ‘scale across form factors, bringing AI to the center of immersive, everyday experiences’.

The event is scheduled for October 21, 10pm Eastern Time – that’s 1pm on October 22nd here in Australia for those playing at home. You’ll be able to tune in to check out all the announcements via their YouTube Channel.

While Samsung Australia don’t appear to have anything on their website, you can check out the US website which is allowing US customers a chance to reserve a headset ahead of the launch.

There’s no pricing or dates for launch, so stay tuned.
