Repairing your Pixel phone in Australia is now an easier process, with Google announcing they’re going local for repairs, partnering with PTC Phone Tech & Comm (PTC) to offer repairs.
Under the new arrangement, you’ll be able to take your Pixel phone into select PTC Phone Tech & Comm (PTC) stores for repairs.
The initial launch includes 10 stores with certified repair technicians ready to repair your Pixel locally, offering screen replacements and fixes for battery issues, faulty buttons or speakers, though this will expand to 20 stores by the end of January.
There are currently 80 Phone Tech & Comm (PTC) across Australia, with plans to expand Pixel repairs to even more of these stores – however you can use Google’s handy list to check if you have an authorised repairer near you right now.
If you’re not near a service centre, there are still options. Google still offers a mail-in repair service, with all Google Pixel Smartphones, Buds and Watches covered by a two-year warranty.
For even more options, you can even do the repairs yourself with Google and iFixit partnering in 2022 to offer guides, parts and tools to fix your phone and even tablet, but having a tech do it for you under warranty – and locally – is a great bonus.
If you do have an issue with your Pixel, you can start with the Pixel Repair Service on their website, or just try a walk-in if you have a centre near you.
Daniel has been talking about, learning about and using tech since he was able to toggle switches and push buttons. If it flashes, turns on or off or connects he wants to use it, talk about it and learn more about it. Like this article? Buy me a coffee!
