Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has today unveiled its next generation of Zephyrus G14 and G16 gaming laptops featuring models with Intel, AMD and NVIDIA, making them perfect not just for gamers but also creators and professionals on the go.
The Zephyrus G14 and G16 are available in models with the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor, capable of up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance, and can perform on-device AI tasks with ease. The Zephyrus G14 is also available with an AMD Ryzen AI processor, which is also capable of 50 TOPS of NPU performance and running local AI models.
GPU-wise, the Zephyrus G14 GU405 can pack up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, while the Zephyrus G16 GU606 features up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, both ideal for the next generation of gaming, capable of DLSS 4 and Frame Generation.
ROG has stepped up the thermals in the new laptops with ROG Intelligent Cooling, which helps maximise performance while minimising noise. The bottom panel has been redesigned, and the exhaust vent design optimised, allowing the laptops to remain cool even under heavy load.
The Zephyrus G14 offers maximum gaming-powerhouse portability, with a CNC-milled aluminium chassis in two premium colourways: Platinum White and Eclipse Grey. The lightweight chassis results in the G14 starting at just 1.5kg. The G16 is also light, starting at under 2kg, making it a gaming machine that can also be used anywhere.
The next generation Zephyrus G14 and G16 feature extensive I/O with dual USB-C ports with support for DisplayPort output and 100W power delivery via USB4 on the AMD machines and Thunderbolt 4 on the Intel-based laptops, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a full-sized HDMI 2.1 port, an audio jack and an SD or microSD card reader.
Rounding out the connectivity is Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi 7 support, making the two new Zephyrus laptops truly gaming powerhouses you can take anywhere.
ROG has gone all out on the displays, with the new Zephyrus G14 and G16 packing upgraded OLED displays featuring the ROG Nebula HDR badge. The G14’s 3K/120Hz and the G16’s 2.5K/240Hz resolution displays offer a 0.2ms response time, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 1100 nits of peak brightness, and support for the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 standard. The displays are also coated with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC to keep them pristine.
Although most users will use headphones, the new ROG laptops also feature a six-speaker audio system that offers significant sound improvements.
Releasing this year, local availability and pricing are currently unknown.
