LG is set to update their ultra-portable range of Gram laptops at CES, with a new lineup debuting their ultra-light ‘Aerominum’ material alongside dual AI capabilities offering on-device and cloud AI.

The LG Gram 2026 line-up will include the LG gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR), the world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop, and their ultra-portable LG gram Pro 16 (16Z90U), a dual AI laptop offering ‘unmatched productivity’.

A key feauture of this announcment is the introduction of Aerominum, a composite material developed by LG that reduces weight, while also reinforcing strength. The material has been utilised in the chassis of their new models, giving them both strength and durability, meeting military-grade standards and offering scratch resistance with a sleek metallic finish, without adding bulk to the design.

The laptops will focus on AI, with the upgraded EXAONE 3.5 sLLM providing fast, and most importantly, private on-device AI for multitasking, content creation and day-to-day productivity – even without an internet connection with both Microsoft Copilot+ PC and LG gram chat On-Device AI.

The larger of the two models announced is the LG Gram Pro 17, which will pack in an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR7memory powering a 17-inch WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) LCD display, making it a fantastic choice for content creation and productivity.

The smaller LG Gram Pro 16 will be powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, and set ‘a new standard as the lightest 16-inch laptop in its class to feature both on-device and cloud-based AI’ says LG, with the  16-inch WQXGA+ (2,880 x 1,800) OLED display bringing a premium experience, with sharp, rich contrast for both work and creative tasks.

Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company said

The 2026 LG gram represents a new milestone in our decade-long pursuit of ultimate portability. With Aerominum, we have successfully solved the paradox of weight versus durability, creating a premium metallic look that is both incredibly light and exceptionally durable. By fusing this breakthrough material with our advanced dual AI and security solutions, our highly intelligent and extremely portable new laptops empower users to work, create and connect seamlessly wherever they are.

We’ll be seeing the new LG Gram Pro 17 and LG Gram Pro 16 on-show at CES next week.
