Twelve years ago Canon released the Canon PowerShot G7 X, with a second and third generation that followed over the ensuing five years but this model has stood the test of time and in the last year or so the Mark III became a viral hit as vloggers and influencers turned to it’s simple point and shoot format for video and photo.

Next week, a new version of the G7 X Mark III goes on sale, but it’s a limited edition and very few Aussies will get the chance to own one.

The limited edition celebrates 30 years of the Canon PowerShot range of cameras, and while its form factor and features are that of the original Mark III, it features an exclusive Graphite Colour and a small and simple logo to mark 30 years of PowerShot on top of the pop-up flash.

Of course it also comes in a specially designed box.

While a regular G7 X III retails for $1,349, the Limited Edition is just $100 more at $1,449.

However, it will be hard to get one.

Like a teenage girl wanting Taylor Swift tickets, you’ll need to be camped at your computer at Midday on Tuesday the 10th Feb (Sydney/Melbourne time) to get yours.

The Canon website will have a dedicated page for the model, which will offer you the chance to buy from a range of regular retailers.

Honestly, I’ve marked it in my diary – this is not just a great camera, it’s iconic, and will do what you need for years to come, plus – Limited. Take my money.
