Supercars are back in 4K in 2026 with an all-new look TV coverage

It’s February and Motor Sport season is almost back baby! The Supercars kick off this weekend in Sydney and the F1 is just weeks away in Melbourne. For Supercars fans, some great news with every single race available in 4K across 2026!

Now, if you’re feeling a little weird about that news, it’s probably because Fox Sports got all excited with Bathurst in 4K in 2018 then ditched it in 2019.

But, it appears the network is ramping back up their plans for Supercars in 2026 – announcing that every single race will be live in 4K on Fox Sports and Kayo.

The Seven Network will host six races, The Sydney 500, Townsville 500, Bathurst 1000, Gold Coast 500 and the Adelaide Grand Final, while the other 8 are exclusive to Kayo/Fox Sports.

For 2026 fans will also get Live team/driver radio and enhanced in-car cameras – plus, with 4K all round, it’s a win for fans.

Foxtel Group CEO, Patrick Delany said “This weekend marks the start of the first full season under James Warburton and his team, and we have already seen the impact they are having in revitalising and reinvigorating one of Australia’s greatest sporting competitions.

“Foxtel Group is the biggest investor in sport in this country, outside of Government, and brings the best of motorsport action together in the one place. We look forward to working with James and the team to make Supercars even bigger and better in 2026 and driving a whole new generation of fans to the sport.”

The coverage will also have a new sound, not just a new look, with Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife no longer part of the commentary team.

Richard Craill, Matt Naulty and Chad Neylon are the qualified commentators for the sport and will be joined by experts like Garth Tander, James Courtney and Mark Winterbottom for colour and expert analysis – along with the legendary Mark Larkham.

Crompo and Skaifey have been criticised for being too close to the sport to be impartial, but I think a lot of people fail to respect the outstanding efforts these two went to with day-long commentary stints that were not lacking in any way.

As a long time fan, I’m disappointed by the changes, but – change is as good as a holiday, and Chad, Matt and Craillsy are outstanding so will bring a new life to the coverage for sure.

Toyota’s on the grid?

Triple Eight in Mustangs?

Feeney with Eyes on Ryan Wood?

There’s a lot to get excited about for the 2026 season.
